Apparently, it aired during the week (I don't watch TV any more, really. Not
sure if my mom had seen the show.)
Smrgol posted this to the Hudson Fur list:

*sigh*
Didn't see the episode, but here's a description from someone who did.
On tonight's episode of ER, directed by Anthony Edwards, it featured
two "furries" who got in a fight at a "furry con." One was a kangaroo
the other was an otter.
The doctor asked if they were rival mascots and got in a fight and the
kangaroo responded "we're furrries who were at a furrycon, an that guy
should be put in jail." So the doctor looked at the kangaroo guys hand
and said "so he bit you? How did this happen?" The kangaroo guy said "we
were skritching. . ." "You were what?" asked the doctor "skritching It's
kind of like a furry hand shake. . .Then that pervert put his hand down
my pouch, so I decked him then we got in a fight and he bit me."
Then the scene cut away to another story line. (By this time I was
posting the alert to the lists.) Then when they returned to the plot
line the kangaroo guy was getting his hand stitched up he was telling
the nurse how he became furry he said "It happened at an office party My
boss asked me to put on a rain deer suit. I've always been a shy person
but in the suit I feel free and liberated" (or something to that effect)
"But I'm not into the bad stuff, I'm not a furvert or a plushy" "A
what?" replies the nurse "A furvert is someone who like to have sex in
one of these costumes and a plushie is someone who is a little too
friendly with stuffed animals. I'm not like that."
Then again we cut away to another story. In one of the other plots the
older female doctor is given a puppet or "pawpet" as she calls it when
she receives it. It's a cat puppet she gets from a former children's TV
star that visits the ER. The puppet then disappears. She searches
frantically for it. Then a reference is made to the fact that the otter
is still there. They agree that he is ready to be discharged. We enter
the room with that doctor. There is a person in the bed making animal
noises and motions with the white sheet pulled over them. The doctor
removes the sheet to reveal the otter guy with his head on and cat
puppet protruding from his zipper the puppet looks up and meows. Then
they cut away, that it!
------------
And so it goes.
