Hello Friends!

You may have seen our advertisements in Anthrocon’s or Morphicon’s con book 
and now I’m here to remind you the Western Pennsylvania Furry Weekend, 
http://www.wpafw.org, is being held Columbus Day weekend, October 6-8, 2006, 
in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This year’s “Featured Artist” is the renowned 
Shawntae Howard, writer and illustrator for the popular “Extinctioners” 
comic book. http://www.extinctioners.com

The event staff and I are continuing to host this event, now in its seventh 
year, and inviting furs from New York, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, 
West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey as well as our friends 
north of the border in Canada, and of course, Pennsylvania. Building on the 
successes of our past events we’ve adjusted our registration structure and 
secured a 400 square foot meeting room at the Comfort Inn Pittsburgh North 
for our Friday Furry Social and for our Saturday Night Prowl and Growl. By 
hosting these events at the hotel we hope to provide a more centralized 
weekend experience and provide more appeal to securing a hotel room for our 
guests.

Event Pre-Registration is now OPEN!! Registration for the Western PA Furry 
Weekend covers the Friday Furry Social, Fur-b-que and Prowl and Growl on 
Saturday.

Pre-registration begins now and runs until Friday September 23, 2006.
• Basic level Pre-registration is $15. (Gets you into the Friday Furry 
Social, Fur-b-que and Prowl and Growl on Saturday.)
• Supporter level Pre-registration is $20. (All of the above plus front line 
privilege for food at the Fur-b-que, five Charity Raffle tickets, our 
esteemed gratitude, and other swag to be determined.)

We’ve had a number of folks register already and several of those signed up 
at the Supporter level.  As for the rest of you…what are you waiting for?  
Don’t miss out!  October is only two months away! :)

Lodging arrangements have been made with the Comfort Inn Pittsburgh North, 
just off PA Rt. 28 and PA Turnpike Exit 48, in Harmarville, PA. The Western 
PA Furry Weekend has secured a block of 20 rooms for both Friday and 
Saturday nights at a flat rate of $69.99 + tax.

The staff and I would also like to announce that once again our Furry 
Weekend Charity is "Animal Friends," Pittsburgh's only no-kill animal 
shelter.  Last year we raised nearly $400 towards this worthy cause. If you 
can help by making a donation of original goods or services please visit the 
event website and send an e-mail to Akirashima, our Charity Raffle 
coordinator, at charity at wpafw.org.
