As a professional programmer, I can tell you that "entirely new"
doesn't necessarily mean "better".  In fact, it usually has the
opposite effect, because it involves starting all over with a fresh
code base, potentially full of undiscovered bugs, edge cases,
incompatibilities, etc.  I would prefer an incremental update that
adds functionality to an existing core.
