Well NT, Dos is also Unix based if you go back far enough.
And the drives are the main thing that keeps them apart.
Apple has a chip built into the main board that used to boot its OS.. but
now with the new Intel chips that has gone.

No, OSX is Unix-based (OpenBSD/Darwin to be specific) and Vista is still
Windows-based (NT to be specific, ver 6.0 to be MORE specific).
They both run on x86-based hardware, but only because Apple switched to
Intel-based hardware. Before that, it didn't work.
Try installing an older (non-x86) version of OSX, and tell me it will run,
without modification, on a PC. Even the packaged version won't work properly
without finding ALL the proper hardware drivers for it, outside of on an
actual Mac. I know someone who has installed the x86 version, and even THAT
didn't work with all the hardware.
