[Pa-furry] Random Techie question of the day

So.. I'm fixing to do a dual windows install for Kobura here shortly, 
vista/xp, and I'd like to dabble in getting grub over onto it for the 
bootloader, since I'm not really partial to the windows bootloader.  Any 
tips/tricks/etc?

So far I've only played with grub on an actual linux partition, and I'm 
not sure how it rolls to get it onto a windows formatted drive.  Is it a 
must to run linux off the livecd and install grub from there to the mbr? 
or can I just download the files for it and run them to install from 
within windows?  Thanks in advance for any advice, this one's kinda 
tricky, I know.
