[Pa-furry] a tech question

I vaguely remember some saying that they worked on ps2's and this
question if for him or anyone else who may know... I have a ps2 that
is acting oddly, not reading disks and the like... Some disks work no
problem, while others need reloaded several times, and still other
just don't work at all. These errors are not a standard disk read
error however, when you load the disk, it behaves the same way that it
would if no disk were loaded at all... it doesn't spin up or, and only
quickly blinks reading disk. for the disks that work sometimes, you
have to eject and reload the disk several times to get it to recognize
that there is a disk in the tray. My question is is there a fix for
this, or would it be almost as cheep just to buy a refurbished ps2?
