HI all,
First of all, thanks to everyone who reads this & graciously grants me some
helpful information. If I remember right, we do have some folks here who
have some experience with running furry conventions. Hopefully they'll help
a fellow out with some questions.
I'll just be quoting what I've already posted elsewhere in an effort to get
some information:
Just asking some questions here concerning a story I'm writing. Hopefully
someone will be able to help -- the brief description is, it's of
weird/horror-related events going on at a furry con, mostly around the art
show (more on my LJ if you need or want it). My main two questions are:
1) If an art piece was to show up in a furcon art show w'out any
identification as to the artist, what would happen to it? Would it be left
up, removed, set aside or what? No one can remember hanging it up or even
seeing it be brought in -- it's just THERE without explanation.
Let me add that the art piece in question is a painting, a BIG one, and of
museum quality. It's obviously a masterpiece -- think if someone managed to
combine the very best elements of artists like Goldenwolf, Dark Natasha, and
half a dozen others, yet at the same time it was obviously a unique style.
No one has ever seen anything by this artist before, no one can even make a
guess at who made it, and it's easy to tell that you'd remember anything
they did.
Also, if you've ever done security at a furcon, especially for the art show,
just how easy would it be for someone to get into and out of the room at
night after it's been closed? Do people sit outside the room or what? A plot
point of the story is that the nasty business involves someone getting into
and out of the art show after hours.
2) Another part of the plot involves disappearances at the con. Assuming
something like FC or AC, how many disappearances could take place before it
became obvious something was going on? And just what would have to happen
for the cops to get called in? I was thinking maybe 8-12 people going
missing through the con (luggage still in their room and so forth, but just
plain gone and no telling where), or would that be too many?
Thanks for any help with the above questions.
sincerely,
Eric
