Firstly, how does AC handle it? That's more or less the base template for
the (unnamed as of yet) furcon I'm using in the plot. I was figuring on a
'lock the doors' policy.

So, assuming that something happens the first night (i.e., it was obvious
that someone was creeping around the room after hours, though nothing is
missing), is it then likely that the con committee would have someone sleep
in the room overnight, just to be cautious?

Also -- under what circumstances would a con hold its art show in a room
that has service doors in the back that can't be locked? (Think those broad
swinging heavy plastic doors you see in some supermarkets; I did see a few
of them at the AC con center last year.) I'm guessing that it would not be a
very good or well-liked idea at all. But might it go through if the room
originally meant to be used was being repaired and nothing else was
available?

Let's say not just "missing" in some cases, though at first it isn't
anything too strange, being more like the example you used -- let's say
someone like one of the fursuiters, or an artist, is just gone. Their
luggage is still in the room, whatever else they might need is still around,
but they themselves are gone. Would the con call the cops or just take a
"let's wait and see" attitude?

Thanks for all the answers they have been very helpful.

best,

Eric
