My main concern was dealing with the parents inasmuch as they may have the
media-distorted view of what furry fandom is all about, the way parents
once had media-distorted views of rock-n-roll music or comic books.  The
younger set would have a lot more fun if they could feel comfortable
coming honestly, rather than saying they're going to an "anime con" or a
"comic con".

Just my 2c worth, your mileage may vary  8)
