Spiderman 3
Pittsburgh FurMeet Report

Sil and I arrived at Pittsburgh Mill’s mall a little before Noon on Sunday.
KC had already called me from the mall at 10:30am so I knew he was around,
Ashe called to tell me he had gone to see the movie Friday night with Theddy
but would join us for dinner, and the crew from NE Ohio left a message on
NEOFurs to let me know things had fallen through for them. On the other
paw, Zyphbear left a message in my LJ that he’d be there with his mate Kevin
and Sinha left me a message in Pittsfurghers that he was bringing along
himself and 5 others. So the headcount with Matty and Kim was a cool dozen
give or take. :)

Sil, KC, Zyph, Kevin and I got in line around 1pm and Matty and Kim weren’t
too far behind us getting in line. Sinha, Firefox, Xavier, Flanowa, Max
Cheetah and Scotty Fox didn’t leave Oakland until 1pm and as a result they
weren’t able to get tickets to the IMAX showing of Spiderman 3. But they
improvised and saved a few bucks and instead got tickets to the 2pm showing
in a regular theater. I was relieved to find out they decided to stick it
out and made the best of it.

The movie itself rocked in IMAX or not. It was a really fun movie to watch,
and if you don’t take it too seriously, and treat it like a “comic book
movie” it’s all the better. If you can get a chance to see this movie, it’s
worth the 2:20…especially if you’ve seen the two movies that preceded this
one. No spoilers here though, you’ll just have to see it for yourself. :)

So after the movies, plural, let out and we hooked up with Ashe, we bid
farewell to Scotty and Max as they had a long drive back to Michigan ahead
of them. We caught a brief glimpse of Chaz and Ridgerwolf entering the
Cinemark for the 4:30 IMAX showing of Spiderman 3, and we tried flag them
down just to say hi, but they didn’t see or hear us. *shrugs* I hope they
enjoyed the show.

The rest of us carpooled over to Steak n Shake to extend the fellowship
together with an inexpensive dinner out. Our waitress was a riot, very
funny and energetic. Everyone ordered what they wanted and at the end, the
manager at the register was able to separate the orders and everyone paid
for what they bought. I have no idea how much the total was, but I hope she
managed well on the tips.

So, in short, we missed everyone who couldn’t be there for one reason or the
other, and the meet was a resounding success.

Our only regret, and this is speaking for Sil too, is that in the hustle and
bustle of seeing everyone off, we lost track of KC and forgot to send him
off with hugs and words of a safe trip. Come to think of it, Matty and Kim
got away with out a farewell and safe trip home too. :(
Sorry guys. I have no idea where our minds were to completely drop the ball
there.

So hugs and thanks to everyone who was able to attend and who made this
activity the success it was. We’ll have to see if there’s another movie or
something coming up that we can do this again for.

*Hugs*

Swift Fox
