Hey Pickle,
Nice 24" (parka) zippers cost just a few dollars.
(like $5 at the most)
I'm not doing free fursuit work anymore,
people don't apperciate it. Trades ok.
Removing and installing a new zipper can probably
be done at the perviously suggested places
already mentioned by other furs. But a fur (like me)
could probably do it by hand in about an hour, or less
if a sewing machine was available.
I know most "dry cleaners" places charge a little extra fee
for such (time consuming) processes, like $10-$30. If they do
long zippers like that at all. Most places will just *CUT out*!
the old zipper and sew in a new one... that's the "easy way".
The "more proper" way is to remove to old zipper by "seam ripping",
and installing a new zipper in the same place as the old one.
I might (40% sure) goto the "York, PA" fur meet this Friday, Dec.2.
If I do, I'll be sure to bring some "working materials", like needle
and threads. :)

Hey, I am currently in a pickle and someone told me that there might be
fursuiters in Philly who may be happy to help me. What is currently
going on is that I paid $450 for a one-piece furry suit that I had
somefur commission and make for me, and at this time I found I can't
even use it because there is a problem with it. The problem is mainly
the zipper on it that is on the back, which I can pull up all the way.
But the problem is that the zipper gets stuck when trying to pull it
back down and I got almost stuck in it a couple of times where I almost
had a panic attack struggling to get that zipper down and out of it.
And
one time, I think I might of did something to my neck getting out of
the
suit where I almost felt like I was going to cough blood which I
didn't.
Anyway, I spoke to the furs that made it and are giving me a hard time
and seeming nasty about it. And on top of that, there is no one around
here and I can't seem to find someone to help me, so I am feeling like
I
have spent $450 for crap and nothing. And on top of that, it was making
me feel like I was loosing my furriness where I have been recently
having these odd dreams. If there is anyone around that can help me out
here with this, please let me know. I need the help, even if it is with
a local fur that might be able to drive up here for a while to come
look
at this problem.
Sincerely,
Erik Mouse
